Chainsaw Safety Presentation

David Breeden

David has a well rounded experience in our industry.  He has worked with Husqvarna for 19 years serving in various roles including Safety and Applications Trainer for chainsaws.  He currently serves as a Territory Manager.  David is also the President of Georgia Tree Masters as well as Arbor Pro Consulting & Training providing Tree Risk Assessments, tree inspections and chainsaw safety training for tree care companies, municipalities, and beyond.  He is an ISA Certified Arborist and TRAQ Qualified.  He has been a generous supporter of the GAA for many years and has a wealth of knowledge to share with our industry.

In this session we will learn about:

• Personal Protective Equipment
• Chainsaw safety features, how they work, importance of inspection
• General daily care and maintenance of a saw for safe practices
• Parts of chain cutter, and functions of each
• Proper starting procedure/clamp start/ground start
• Ergonomics - reducing fatigue by utilizing saw as it is designed
• Reactive forces of saw/bar/chain
