Below are three outreach publications targeted at tree health care providers and arborists regarding pruning.

These publications will act as reference and support for my presentation at the meetings.

Cost: $60 GAA Members, UGA Students & Faculty, $85 Non-Members, Light breakfast & lunch included

Event subject to change based on CDC recommendations for large gatherings.

5.0 ISA Credits ISA , TCIA, SAF and ASLA applied for. Certificate provided for Georgia Certified Landscape Professional.

Guyton Workshop Agenda

7:45-8:30am        – Registration & Coffee

8:20-8:30am       – Workshop Begins – Welcome / Orientation 

8:30-9:30am       - Biological & Structural Foundations of Tree-Literate Pruning (Dr. Kim Coder, Professor, UGA Warnell School of Forestry)

9:30-10:00am     - Pruning Objectives, Types, & Cuts (Michael P. Murphy, Preservation Tree, LLCBoard Certified Master ArboristNJ-0146B)

10:00-10:15am   - BREAK 

10:15-10:45am   - Utility Pruning BMPs and Line Safety (Georgia Power)

11:00-12:00- OUTDOOR STATIONS (small groups rotate to one of three stations every hour) 

Equipment & Personal Safety Equipment (1 hour) (Frank Speeny-Husqvarna)

Mature Tree Pruning & Rigging (1 hour) (Shem Kendrick, Coastal Arbor Care & Rob Cuilty, SavATree)

Young Tree Pruning (1 hour) (Holly Campbell & Dr. Jason Gordon)

12:00-1:00pm- LUNCH 

1:00-2:00- OUTDOOR STATIONS (participants rotate to the next station)

2:00-3:00- OUTDOOR STATIONS (participants rotate to the next station)

3:00-3:15pm- Closing Remarks, CEUs, Departure
